Every single step produce great responsibility, responsibility that defines great motives, motives that creates action, action that determines consequences. We all are a part of this journey, a path that every man must take in each daily horizon of uncertainty. Every single objective defines our destination.
My growth in Christ anticipates a life of serves, called and crafted with the blood that was shed in the cross. Working in a ministry is my passion; regardless of the responsibility and the task, I take pleasure in serving my Creator, my Lord and my Savior. It is out of this personality that one Christian church asked my assistance.
The church existed for fifteen years or more. The growth in number is stagnant, its church goers comprises of devoted individual. (The word individual indicates the same numeral of people since its existence). Its concern is to produce a numbers of aficionados who will dwell in its congregation.
It was a mistake that I didn’t see it coming. I was tasked as a sport coordinator. The ministry’s objective is to reach to different sector of religion in any form of culture and faith; its mission is founded in the Great Commission, to spread the saving power of salvation to the youth.
Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
The problem started when they obligate me and the youth to forcefully attend Sunday Church Serves. As a servant of GOD it is my greatest joy to see a church prosper in faith and doctrine not out of numbers but through discipleship. It’s not a matter of driving a person to attend Sunday service but through knowing the Divinity of Christ Jesus. It was tempting site ; to gathered a hundred of unbelievers to attend such ministry. With the grace of God and the mercy of Jesus in the cross all of them accepted the true and the only GOD CHRIST JESUS the king.
Rom 15:20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:
It is with faith and belief that a soul is beyond any captivity and should not be of any personal or motive to draw one soul in attending a service. I believe in a personal relationship through discipleship, only then one soul is given a free choice to choose any congregation that they are comfortable with.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The doctrine of faith does not emphasize on obligating a soul to any congregation but through personal relationship and faith.
In the words of that great philosopher Jimmy Buffet…the first step in making discipleship happen at Compass Point started with “changes in latitudes…changes in attitudes”.
Heb 13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
My growth and my obedience is for CHRIST alone, and I work only for HIM and not out of any other ethics. We all have to check our very own motives if we want to grow in CHRIST and in MINISTRY…. Think again!
Mat 10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
Luk 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
